13 Minutes Afdah is a catastrophe film from the United States that was shot fully on location in Oklahoma. Written by Travis Farncombe, with a script by Lindsay Gosling, who also debuts as a feature filmmaker with this look at Tornado Alley's impact.

"If you're on the move, now is the time to find a solid structure. Go into a ditch if you can't find one. I'll say it again: don't seek refuge under an overpass."

In the hypothetical tiny town of Minneapolis, Oklahoma, where the general populace is going about their regular lives, it's a day like no other. They are all regularly issued while living in the region, however, they do not normally arrive for severe storm warnings.

Tammy (Anne Heche - My Friend Dahmer, Nothing to Fear) and her husband Rick (Trace Adkins - Lincoln Lawyer, Deep Water Horizon) are struggling to keep their farm afloat, while their gay son Luke (Will Peltz - The Outcast, Unfriend) doesn't dare to come in front of them because he knows how difficult it is.

Meanwhile, Maddie (Sophia Vasilyeva - My Sisters Keeper), a local hairdresser, has just learned she is pregnant and wants an abortion at her father Eric's request (James Austin Kerr - Our Dream Wedding, Awake). Jess (Thora Birch - American Beauty, Deadline), her mechanic mother, will help her in any way she can, despite her surprise when she visits the clinic. He also has a forward-thinking side.

At a nearby motel managed by the malevolent master Greg, we also encounter the tribulations of Carlos (Yansi Arias - 100 Days to Live), an undocumented Mexican immigrant, and his lover Anna (Paz Vega - Fade to Black, the Spirit). Working for a living. (Gabriel Jarrett - Reaper, Limbo)

All of this may be seen through the eyes of a massive storm that is bearing down on Minneapolis. While Maddie is her deaf kid, Regional Emergency Manager Kim (Amy Smart - Crank, Stargirl) and her seasonal husband Brad (Peter Fascinelli - The Vanishing, Usher) struggle to safeguard the locals. Pitton is a character in the film Pitton (Shelly Mansfield -). Noel, feel the beat).

"The power grid should have been turned off."

"Kim was going to take care of it."

13 Minutes is a pleasant film with a wonderful concept. Special effects are fantastic for an ostensibly low-budget picture until the tornado finally strikes the tale for roughly an hour, and the devastation sequences are very spectacular after that.

They couldn't pick which political agenda to push, so they tossed everything into the mix, according to the narrative. As a result, nothing important is mentioned about any of them, other than a cursory acknowledgment that they exist. It's also a bit disheartening that in the midst of a tragedy, all the "evil" people in town transform into saints; you can only receive so much comfort in one movie.

It increases awareness about tornadoes and how to avoid them (though perhaps not practical if you live in the UK), and it also teaches how to perform CPR properly, which is excellent to see in a film. It appears to be the case. There are some faults with this, but I think it's a good idea to keep watching if you're a disaster movie fan.

"In memory of those whose lives and communities have been significantly impacted by weather."
